ASTM A572 steel is a high strength low alloy structural steel divided into five grades: A572Gr42, A572Gr50, A572Gr55, A572Gr60, A572Gr65 steel, of which: A572Gr42, A572Gr50 and A572Gr55 steel platess are suitable for riveting, bolting or welding of structural parts. A572Gr60, A572Gr65 steel is suitable for riveting, bolting or welding of bridge riveting and bolting components or other applications.
ASTM A572 steel melting process—steel should be semi-killed steel or killed steel.
