At present, the penstocks of domestic hydropower stations mainly use 600 MPa grade products. Compared with foreign countries, the varieties and properties of domestic low-alloy high-quality steel still have a big gap, and the application of 800 MPa steel plate in the hydropower industry is not widespread. In order to comply with the development of the situation, the company has successfully developed a low-temperature, welding crack sensitivity 800MPa grade N800CF hydropower steel plate. It is designed with low carbon, low carbon equivalent, and microalloyed composition, which has the comprehensive mechanical properties of high strength and high toughness, while ensuring that the steel plate has good heat input welding performance.
 
N800CF steel plate welding process
The welding methods used are electrode arc welding (SMAW), gas shielded welding (GMAW), and submerged arc welding (SAW).
N800CF steel is preheated at 80 ℃ and 100 ℃, using electrode arc welding (SMAW), gas shielded welding (GMAW) welding, the surface crack rate and section crack rate of the oblique Y groove welding crack specimen are zero. The plate thickness is 40 mm thick N800CF steel plate, and preheating at 80 ℃ before welding can prevent cracks from occurring. Comprehensive performance evaluation of welded joints.
