S420M steel is a hot-rolled flat-rolled weldable fine grain structural steel with a thickness not greater than 120mm. EN10025-4 S420M plate has good
welding performance.
The general requirements for steel arc welding specified in the standard are given in EN 1011-2.
Note: Along with the increased product thickness and strength level, cold cracking may appear. Cold cracking is caused by a combination of the following factors:
——The amount of scattered hydrogen in the weld metal;
—— Brittle structure of heat affected zone;
——A lot of tensile stress is concentrated at the welding point.
S420M steel plate standard, shape, weight and tolerance: The standard, shape and allowable tolerance of the steel plate should conform to the regulations of 2.2 in 2004 of EN10025-1.
S420M steel plate delivery status
S420M steel plates are delivered in thermomechanical rolling; steel plates should be delivered by shearing or flame cutting.
S420ML steel plate application
S420M steel is suitable for heavy-duty components of welded structures used in environments and low temperatures, such as bridges, sluices, storage tanks, water supply tanks.
