The difference between 40Cr steel plate and 35CrMo steel plate steel plate

Whether it can replace 35CrMo steel plate and 40Cr steel plate, the biggest difference is whether it contains Mo element. Silver element can improve the economic permeability of steel, refine grains, and can effectively prevent the generation of the second type of temper brittleness of steel, especially at low temperature, the increase of silver content has a positive effect on improving the impact value.

The 40Cr steel plate after quenching and tempering treatment has good comprehensive mechanical properties, good low temperature impact toughness and low notch sensitivity. The hardenability of 40Cr steel plate is good, it can be hardened to Ф28~60mm when water quenched, and can be hardened to Ф15~40mm when oil quenched. In addition to quenching and tempering treatment, 40Cr steel plate is also suitable for cyanidation and high-frequency quenching treatment. The cutting performance is good. When the hardness is HB174~229, the relative machinability is 60%. 40Cr steel plate is suitable for making medium-sized plastic molds.

For normal temperature and strength requirements of grade 8.8, 40Cr steel plate can be used instead of 35CrMo steel plate. If both strength and toughness are required, it cannot be replaced. In addition, large-sized high-strength bolts made of 35CrMo steel plate have stable performance.
