Effect of Co/W on Corrosion Resistance of Corten Flat Bar in Marine Atmosphere steel plate

It was found that the low alloy steel containing 1%-3% Co had good corrosion resistance in salt atmosphere. CoOOH was formed by replacing part of Fe in FeOH with Co, which increased the corrosion electrochemical impedance and prevented chloride ion from penetrating into the rust layer.

It was found that the addition of Co and W to corten flat bar in marine atmospheric environment can increase corrosion potential and reduce corrosion current density, and the compounds formed by Co and W can more or less promote the formation of rust layer, thus improving the corrosion resistance of corten flat bar.
