Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of alloy steel plate and high carbon steel plate steel plate

Alloy steel plate and high-carbon steel plate are both steel materials, but their composition and properties are quite different. High-carbon steel plate refers to steel with a carbon content from 0.60% to 1.70%, while alloy steel plate refers to the addition of other alloying elements to the steel in addition to iron and carbon. Due to the difference in composition, the hardness, melting point, and boiling point of the two are also very different, and the applications of alloy steel plate and high-carbon steel plate are also different.

High-carbon steel plate has poor hardenability, low high-temperature strength and poor red hardness. High-carbon steel plate cannot obtain good comprehensive properties, and does not have special properties. In order to make up for the shortcomings of high carbon steel plate, some alloying elements are consciously added, which can obtain many kinds of alloy steel plate with required properties. Although alloy steel plate has excellent or special properties, alloy steel plate also has many shortcomings. The steel smelting and processing technology of alloy steel plate is worse than that of carbon steel, and the price of alloy steel plate is more expensive.According to the principle of reasonable material selection, when carbon steel plate can meet the requirements, carbon steel plate should be used as much as possible.

In general, there is no definite difference between alloy steel plate and high-carbon steel plate. It is most important to choose suitable materials according to the appropriate use and operating environment.
